MCP server questions

What is Rumoro's MCP server?

A hosted server at https://mcp.rumoro.dev/mcp that gives any MCP client 55 tools over your Rumoro workspace: search and triage mentions from 16 sources, read analytics and share of voice, and manage keywords, alerts, people and segments. Each tool does what one REST API operation does.

Do I need an API key?

No. The server speaks OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so your agent registers itself from the URL, you sign in and approve once, and it refreshes its own token. A key still works where no browser can open, such as CI or a server, sent as a Bearer header.

Which AI agents does it work with?

Any client that speaks MCP over streamable HTTP. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Grok, Hermes and OpenClaw have their own guides here, and claude.ai and Claude Desktop take it as a custom connector. The MCP docs show the settings for other clients. OpenClaw can also use Rumoro's ClawHub skill, which calls the REST API.

Is it billed per call?

No. Rumoro charges $5 per tracked keyword a month and $0.008 per matched mention, from a prepaid balance; calls from your agent are free. A new workspace starts with $5.80 of credit and no card.

Can a read-only connection change anything?

No. Approve read access when you sign in, or connect with a read key, and the agent sees only the 29 read tools; every write is refused.
