Illustrative reviews

- **Any place**: A shop, a clinic, an office or a rival's storefront, anything with a page on Google Maps.
- **Every location**: Each branch is its own place. Link them all and read their reviews in one feed.
- **As written**: Reviews keep their original language, with the stars and the owner's response.
- **First month free**: Adding a place brings its 100 most recent reviews from the past 30 days at no cost.

How it works

## How Google review monitoring works in Rumoro

Places can be added in the dashboard, over the API or the CLI, or by asking your agent. Last month shows up straight away, and new reviews follow daily.

`maps.app.goo.gl/hb7Docklands`

Docklands Old Town Riverside

### Paste a Google Maps link

Copy the place's link from Google Maps, or its Share button, and add it to a keyword. Each location you add brings its 100 newest reviews of the past month, free.

```
Harbor Bikes · 3 places  →  new Google reviews · daily
```

1. Mon
2. Tue
3. Wed
4. Thu

### New reviews arrive every day

Rumoro checks each place once a day. The stars decide whether a review counts as positive, neutral or negative, and the text is tagged as praise, a complaint, a question or a pricing issue.

- ★ Booked a Saturday service and nobody… **!**
- ★★★★ Can I leave my bike overnight… **?**
- ★★★★★ Fixed my wheel the same afternoon… **+**

### Your team hears about the ones that matter

Rules filter on rating, mood and topic, then notify Slack, Telegram, email, a webhook or your agent right away or once a day.

For businesses with more than one location

## One feed for the Google reviews of every location

Each branch, clinic or store is its own listing on Google Maps and collects reviews on its own. Link them all to one keyword and read them together, with a rating trend per place in the Reviews report.

- A bad experience at any location reaches its manager the same day
- Locations compared on rating, volume and unanswered reviews
- The competitor around the corner followed with the same rules

2. Tue: ★ Booked a Saturday service and nobody opened

3. Wed: ★★★ Friendly, but the shop was hard to find

Check, build or monitor

## Checking Google Maps, a Google reviews API, or monitoring

Google offers two APIs with reviews in them, each with a catch. Here is what checking by hand, building on them, and Rumoro each leave to you.

Question Checking Google Maps Google’s APIs Rumoro

Which places Checking Google Maps Any place, one listing at a time Google’s APIs The Places API reads any place; the Business Profile APIs read only locations you manage Rumoro Any listing on Google Maps, your own or a rival's

How many reviews Checking Google Maps As many as you scroll through Google’s APIs The Places API stops at five per place, picked by relevance rather than date Rumoro Every new review from the day you link a place, plus the past month's 100 newest

Unhappy reviews Checking Google Maps Sort the listing by lowest rating Google’s APIs Stars and text, to filter yourself Rumoro 1 and 2 star reviews sent to the right person, tagged by topic

Owner responses Checking Google Maps Shown under each review Google’s APIs Listed and posted through the Business Profile APIs, for your own locations Rumoro Each review shows the owner's response or its absence, and open unhappy reviews are counted

Alerts Checking Google Maps None Google’s APIs You build the polling, the storage, the duplicate checks and the alerts Rumoro Slack, Telegram, email digests and signed webhooks

Agents Checking Google Maps Copy and paste Google’s APIs Your own MCP server on top Rumoro Reviews, the per-location report and every other source, available over MCP

What you get

## What Rumoro keeps from each Google review

What a manager needs to decide whether to reply, and plainly what isn't collected.

- **The review**: The stars, the text in the language it was written, when it was posted and its link. A rating left without words arrives as "Rated 4 of 5 stars, with no written review."
- **The reviewer**: Their name, Google Maps profile and picture, and how many reviews they've written.
- **The owner's response**: The reply as the business wrote it, with its date, as it was on the day Rumoro collected the review.
- **Limits**: Helpful votes aren't collected, and a place is read up to its 1,000 newest reviews a day.

Reviews on other sites work the same way. Add a [Trustpilot page](https://rumoro.dev/trustpilot) for the company, or follow [App Store reviews](https://rumoro.dev/app-store) and [Google Play reviews](https://rumoro.dev/google-play) if you have an app.

Beyond alerts

## Google review tracking beyond the alert

Follow each location's rating over time, find the reviews nobody has answered and keep an eye on the competition nearby.

### Sentiment from the stars

Ratings decide the mood of each review without guesswork, and every review of a place you linked counts as relevant.

### Pick the ratings that alert you

Send only 1 and 2 star reviews to the channel your managers watch, and let the rest wait for the weekly digest.

### See what's still unanswered

Each review shows whether the owner has responded, so the unhappy ones nobody has dealt with are easy to find.

### A rating trend per location

The Reviews report shows each place's average rating by day or week, the star split, open unhappy reviews and what they're about.

### Your rivals' reviews too

Give a rival's listing its own keyword and set its review count and average rating next to yours.

### Regulars and repeat reviewers

Reviewers are kept with your tags and notes, so the person who wrote three five-star reviews is easy to thank.

### A weekly round-up per team

A digest in Slack, Telegram or email for each region or brand, built from the same alert rules.

### Views, filters and export

Save a view per location and download reviews as CSV, with the rating and the place in their own columns.

MCP, API, SDKs and CLI

## Google review data for your agent and your app

Rumoro's API returns every review of the places you link, with stars and owner responses, and its MCP server hands the same data and the Reviews report to Claude, Cursor or Codex. Your agent drafts replies in each reviewer's language.

Coverage, alerts and cost

## Google review monitoring questions

### How can I get an alert when someone reviews my business on Google?

Paste your place's Google Maps link into a keyword and create an alert rule. Every day Rumoro picks up the new reviews, and the rule forwards the ones you asked for, all of them or only certain star ratings, to Slack, Telegram, email or a webhook.

### Is there a Google reviews API for businesses I don't own?

Not one that gives you every review. Google's Places API reads any place but returns at most five reviews, chosen by relevance. The Business Profile APIs return all reviews only for locations you manage, after Google approves an access request. Rumoro reads any place's public reviews and hands them to you through its own API.

### Which Google Maps link should I use?

The long link from your browser's address bar, the short maps.app.goo.gl link from the Share button, a Place ID (ChIJ…) or a CID all work. The link has to open one place, not a search result or an area of the map.

### How do I monitor reviews for several locations?

Each location is its own place on Google Maps, so add every location's link to the keyword. Their reviews share one feed and one set of alerts, and the Reviews report shows the average rating per place.

### Can I watch a competitor's Google reviews?

Yes. Any place's public reviews work. Give the competitor its own keyword so its reviews stay apart from yours and the report compares the two.

### How do I respond to Google reviews?

In your Google Business Profile, open Read reviews and choose Reply next to the review. Rumoro doesn't post for you, but it tells you which reviews need an answer, and your AI agent can draft the reply for you to paste.

### Are reviews in other languages translated?

No. Rumoro keeps each review and owner response in the language it was written, as Google shows it before translation. Your agent can translate when you need it.

### What happens with a rating that has no text?

It still arrives, as "Rated 4 of 5 stars, with no written review.", so your counts and averages match what customers see on Google. It counts as a mention like any other review.

### How quickly do new Google reviews show up?

Within a day. Each place is checked daily and up to 1,000 of its newest reviews are read per check. If other workspaces follow the same place, they share that check.

### Do I need access to the Google Business Profile?

No. Reviews on Google Maps are public, so there's no Google account to connect, no API access to request and no listing to claim.

### Can I get only the unhappy reviews?

Yes. Alert rules, saved views, searches and exports all filter on star ratings. Many teams send 1 and 2 star reviews to a channel straight away and read the rest in a digest.

### Does Rumoro collect helpful votes?

Not at the moment. Each review carries its stars, text, reviewer and owner response, but not the number of people who found it helpful.

### Can my AI agent read Google reviews?

Yes. Connect Claude, Cursor or Codex to Rumoro's MCP server and ask which locations got unhappy reviews this week. The agent sees the stars, the text and whether you've responded, and can open the Reviews report.

### What does Google review monitoring cost?

Adding a place costs nothing up front, and last month's 100 newest reviews come free. After that you pay $0.008 per new review and $5 a month for the keyword, charged by the day. No subscription, and new accounts start with $5.80 of credit.
